FAQ

Your event

How long is a typical performance? Do you take breaks?

A standard performance consists of two sets of about 45 minutes, separated by a 15-minute break. In practice, we rarely follow this schedule to the letter, because every ceremony, cocktail party or event is unique: we are happy to adapt it to serve yours as well as possible.

We can extend the performance slightly at no extra cost, as long as it’s reasonable. Playing for well over an hour and a half is also entirely possible: these details will be agreed with the person in charge of the event when the quote is drawn up.

What budget should we plan for?

We specialise in high-end, tailor-made performances. Our offering, both musical and on stage, is of a very high standard: our rates are therefore higher than those of a more traditional line-up, such as a jazz quintet for example.

We do not share our price list publicly, but we are quite transparent on the subject and would be glad to discuss with you, by phone, whether our performance fits your budget.

Can you play for several key moments (ceremony, cocktail party, dinner)?

Absolutely! Our musical world is a wonderful fit for cocktail parties and dinners. For a ceremony, we can adapt our repertoire, for example if you would like a more solemn atmosphere.

A big event alternates high points, calm moments and pauses: musical accompaniment that follows this score is a real plus. During our conversations, we will make sure we have all the information we need to support your schedule as well as possible.

I would like to organise a dance night. Is that something you do?

For a dance night, we are unfortunately not the best-suited band: getting the audience dancing is not the primary purpose of our performances, even though it happens regularly. Please do get in touch anyway, as we may have other bands to recommend to you.

Our music

Can you play a specific song for us?

Absolutely, and even several if you wish. We can learn the songs of your choice for the first dance or for any other important moment.

To take the tailor-made approach even further, we even offer a guided composition service: a song created with you, for example to give to your future wife or husband on the wedding day.

Adapting our performance to our clients is what makes us unique, it is even our strength, and to be completely honest it is what we love to do.

Is your music made by AI?

No. We do not use any artificial intelligence tools, at any stage of the music creation. Every sound you hear in our recordings, just like those you will hear live, was thought out and recorded by Martin and Larissa.

Do you have recordings of your previous performances?

Not yet, for the simple reason that Brise Tropicale is a recent project (2026). That said, Martin has more than 15 years of experience in this type of musical performance. He created and ran the company Montreal Jazz Prestige when he lived in Montreal, and you can see their Google reviews on their Google Business page.

Getting in touch and booking

I don’t speak French, is that a problem?

Of course not! Martin, who looks after the organisation of Brise Tropicale, speaks four languages fluently on a daily basis: French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. He also lived for three years in Canada. If you are comfortable in any of these languages, our conversations will be perfectly smooth.

How do I book Brise Tropicale?

It all starts with a message via our contact form. We will then take the time to define your needs together, and then send you a quote. If you accept it, we will send you a contract, along with a request for a 25% deposit. The date is reserved as soon as this deposit is paid.
